TOFIL Awardees

Six Filipinos conferred the 2010 TOFIL award. Six change agents were recently honored in formal ceremonies led by Vice President of the Philippines Jejomar C. Binay (center), Insular Life Chairman and CEO Vicente R. Ayllón, and JCI Senate Phils. National President Bernard Ong (6^th and 8^th from left, respectively). The 2010 TOFIL awardees are: Dr. Ray L. Catague [Public Health] represented by his wife, Mrs. Catague, Dr. Esperanza I. Cabral [Government Service], Dr. Isagani R. Cruz [Literature]  (3^rd, 4^th and 5^th from left, respectively), Ms. Shirley Halili-Cruz [Arts and Culture], Dr. Anthony C. Leachon [Medicine], and Father Joel E. Tabora, S.J. JCI Senate Philippines and Insular Life Confer the 2007 TOFIL Awards JCI Senate Philippines and The Insular Life Assurance Company, Ltd. conferred the 2007 THE OUTSTANDING FILIPINO (TOFIL) AWARDS during the formal ceremonies held on December 13, 2007 at the Insular Life Auditorium, ILCC Alabang. The 2007 TOFIL awardees are Florangel R. Braid, Ph.D., for Literature and Journalism; Jose S. Concepcion, Jr., for Social Advocacy; Felipe F. Cruz, for General Construction; and Hernani G. Golez, Ph.D., for Agriculture. On stage to hand out the Abueva-created trophy, as well as the medallions and citations to the winners are: Mr. Vicente R. Ayllón, Chairman of the Board and CEO, Insular Life; JCI Sen. Senen P. Quiambao, JCI Senate Philippines President; JCI Sen. Emmanuel B. Bautista, 2007 TOFIL Over-all Chairman, and Mr. Edgar O. Chua, Board of Judges Chairman. Now on its 20th year, The Outstanding Filipino (TOFIL) Award, a joint project of the JCI Senate Philippines and Insular Life, has recognized the achievements of 90 Filipinos in various fields since 1988. Braid, Concepcion, Cruz and Golez, who join the ranks of luminaries such as the late Jaime Cardinal Sin, Atty. Jovito Salonga, Architect Francisco T. Mañosa and Dr. Fe Del Mundo. This year’s winners will be conferred the 2007 TOFIL Awards on December 13, 2007 at the Insular Life Auditorium at the Insular Life Corporate Centre in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
